Cristian Timmermann studierte Philosophie und Politikwissenschaft an der Ludwig-Maximilians-Universit?t München und wurde in Philosophie an der Universit?t Wageningen (Niederlande) promoviert. Er arbeitet als politischer Philosoph in der Schnittstelle zwischen Lebenswissenschaften und sozialer Gerechtigkeit, in dem er sich sowohl auf Theorie wie politische Analyse konzentriert. Zu seinen Forschungsinteressen geh?ren Armut, sinnvolle Arbeit, ?ffentliche Güter und Wissenschaftspolitik in den Bereichen Landwirtschaft, ?ffentliche Gesundheit und Technologien zur Eind?mmung und Anpassung des Klimawandels, wobei er sich auf Lateinamerika und Europa spezialisiert hat. In der Vergangenheit hatte er Forschungsstellen in Wageningen, Beersheva, Mexiko-Stadt, Santiago de Chile und Ulm inne, mit Forschungsaufenthalten bei der Brocher Foundation, dem Hastings Center, Rom, Salzburg, Brisbane und Louvain-la-Neuve.
