For more than 35 years, the ISLA Institute of Iberian and Latin American Studies has been connecting and promoting in an interdisciplinary way the various research and learning-teaching projects regarding the Iberian Peninsula and the Americas (with consideration of Creole and Lusophone African Cultures and Societies) at the 威尼斯赌博游戏_威尼斯赌博app-【官网】 of Augsburg. Along with individual and collective research projects and the dedicated promotion of young researchers ('Junges ISLA'), the Institute’s activities and channels include the established ' Mesa Redonda' publication series, the international ‘Augsburg 威尼斯赌博游戏_威尼斯赌博app-【官网】 Prize for Iberian and Latin American Studies’ as well as recently the transatlantic 'HORIZONTES Film Studies Network', the transdisciplinary 'Culturas Urbanas' Working Group, & cet. (see sections). Since 2021, the ISLA participates also in the International Doctorate Program " Rethinking Environment" (Elite Network of Bavaria); since 2023, in the research-oriented " Ibero-Romance Cultural Studies" (MA); and since 2024, in the transdisciplinary " Urban Cultures" (MA) international joint study program.
