The 69th Annual Meeting of the German Society for 威尼斯赌博游戏_威尼斯赌博app-【官网】ical Informatics, Biometry and Epidemiology (GMDS) e.V. took place in Dresden from September 8 to 13, 2024. The GMDS is a leading professional society that brings together experts from the fields of medical informatics, biometrics, epidemiology, social medicine, prevention, medical sociology and public health. This year, we were also there to present our research work.

Session "Imaging & Biosignals" under the moderation of Dr. Dominik Müller
Dr. Dominik Müller, together with Miriam Goldammer (TU Dresden), moderated the session "Imaging & Biosignals". The presentations covered innovative approaches from areas such as machine learning and health monitoring. Among the exciting contributions, Katharina Ott, bachelor student and student assistant at the MISIT chair, presented her work on predicting the overall survival of glioblastoma patients. With the help of deep learning and MRI images, she was able to achieve promising results.

Katharina Ott wins the GMDS2024 sponsorship award
A special success: Katharina Ott was awarded the GMDS Sponsorship Prize for Students 2024 in the field of 威尼斯赌博游戏_威尼斯赌博app-【官网】ical Informatics at the GMDS 2024. Her outstanding bachelor thesis on predicting the overall survival time of glioblastoma patients using deep learning and MRI data was deservedly honored. We are very pleased about this well-deserved recognition and congratulate Katharina on this success!

Steffen Netzband presents FHIR model for nursing assessments
Another highlight of GMDS 2024 was Steffen Netzband's presentation on the " Towards a FHIR-Based Framework for Analyzing Nursing-Related Data in Smaller Sized Care Facilities". The model shows a promising approach to digitalization and standardization in nursing informatics by mapping data from 108 nursing home residents on a FHIR server. Stefanie Meyer, Jeton Iseni, Dominik Müller and Frank Kramer were also involved in the project.

Tamara Krafft presents PACS2go
Tamara Krafft, student assistant at the chair, presented her poster entitled "PACS2go - Towards a Portable Research PACS for Interdisciplinary Collaboration". PACS2go is an open-source platform designed to facilitate the exchange and storage of medical image data for research purposes. The platform supports formats such as DICOM, NIfTI and TIFF and has been successfully applied to the KITS19 dataset, which includes image data from kidney tumor patients. The open source project is available on GitHub.

The MISIT team at the 威尼斯赌博游戏_威尼斯赌博app-【官网】 of Augsburg would like to thank everyone for the inspiring presentations and exciting discussions at GMDS 2024 and is already looking forward to GMDS 2025.
