At the start of the winter semester

30 October: As you have certainly heard, the incidence of infections in Germany, and especially in Augsburg, continues to rise. The Federal Government and the federal states have decided on further measures to curb this. We would like to briefly explain to you how this will affect the start of your studies on Monday.

On the one hand, the university must do its part to reduce the number of infections and, therefore, avoid crowds of people on campus wherever possible. On the other hand, it is just as important for the university to enable students to study productively. This will be the case this winter semester: As much online as possible and attendance teaching only when absolutely necessary.

Teaching at the 威尼斯赌博游戏_威尼斯赌博app-【官网】 of Augsburg continues to include face-to-face courses, even to a small extent. Due to the new official regulations, however, courses previously planned in attendance may possibly be converted to online formats. Therefore, please inform yourself independently in the Digicampus as well as on the homepage of the respective subject, institute or study programme whether this applies to the courses you have taken. If in doubt, please ask your lecturers.

The 威尼斯赌博游戏_威尼斯赌博app-【官网】 Library will initially remain open at the published times. However, please also make use of the extended range of digitally available media and reduce your stay in the 威尼斯赌博游戏_威尼斯赌博app-【官网】 Library to the absolutely essential minimum.

It is in the logic of the measures adopted by the federal and state governments and the city of Augsburg to minimise the number of people staying on campus. Therefore, the announced lounges on campus will remain closed for the time being.

The university buildings are only open during the times when classroom teaching takes place there. The CIP pools will continue to be closed, while the cafeteria will remain open as it is a canteen and only members of the university - i.e. employees and students - can eat there.

Please note that masks are compulsory in all buildings, in lectures and in the library this also applies to the seat.

For both students and university staff and lecturers, the official regulations mean that we have to adapt to a changed situation and live and work with restrictions. It is important for the university to keep health risks low and planning security high for all members of the university. In addition, the general conditions for students in the current situation should be designed as well as possible. To this end, the situation is continuously monitored and short-term changes and measures may also be necessary.

Please also note the guidelines of the 威尼斯赌博游戏_威尼斯赌博app-【官网】 of Augsburg for coping with the challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic in the winter semester 2020/2021:
