Collaborative Research Centre/Transregio 360: Constrained Quantum Matter

The new Collaborative Research Centre “Constrained Quantum Matter” (Eingesch?nkte Quantenmaterie) conducts research in the fields of complex quantum materials and novel quantum states. In recent years, enormous progress has been made in these fields through new technological and methodological developments. Building on this, the project aims to influence the properties of quantum matter and uncover new phenomena and effects. In the long term, it offers a starting point for the development for quantum technology applications, as for example in quantum information technology.

DFG research units (Forschungsgruppen, FOR) are cooperative research projects composed of close a working group of researchers funded by the German Research Foundation for up to eight years. They often contribute to establishing new directions in research.

DFG Priority Programmes (SPP)

A special characteristic of DFG priority programmes (Schwerpunktprogrammen, SPP) is that they involve the transregional cooperation of participating researchers. The programmes are intended to provide impetus for the further development of research through the coordinated, locally distributed funding of important new research topics. DFG priority programmes are usually funded for a period of six years.

CCC Alliance WERA

The CCC Alliance WERA is an alliance of Comprehensive Cancer Centres in Würzburg, Erlangen, Regensburg, and Augsburg. The Comprehensive Cancer Centre Augsburg (CCCA) has been recognised by “Deutschen Krebshilfe” as a leading centre in oncology. The centre organises and coordinates all oncological disciplines and includes 29 participating clinics, institutes, and services at the 威尼斯赌博游戏_威尼斯赌博app-【官网】 Hospital Augsburg. It aims to unite multidisciplinary patient care, education and further training, research, and regional networking in oncology.

New Site of the German Centre for Mental Health to be located in Augsburg

Together with Munich, Augsburg is home to a new site of the German Centre for Mental Health. The aim of the new centre is interdisciplinary research into the development and progress of mental illnesses across the lifespan. The Augsburg site of the new centre will focus on researching treatments for depression. Funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF), the new centre (DZPG) consists of five research sites in addition to Munich/Augsburg.
