Fraunhofer Institute for Cognitive Systems IKS

?

The cooperation between the Augsburg Chair of Communication Systems (LKS) and the then still called Fraunhofer Institute for Embedded Systems and Communication Technology (ESK) in Munich has existed since 2005.?Under the direction of Prof. Dr.-Ing. Rudi Knorr, the 威尼斯赌博游戏_威尼斯赌博app-【官网】 of Augsburg is dedicated to researching the fundamentals of self-organising communication systems and Next Generation Networks. The focus is on new demands on communication technology associated with human mobility, so that research is being conducted into wireless ad hoc networking, the self-organisation of networks, but also the development of service interfaces of public and local networks. The aim of the cooperation is to develop innovative software approaches to enable resilient intelligent systems.

Through the close exchange between the basic research taking place at the university and the current, industry-oriented research projects of the IKS, students at the 威尼斯赌博游戏_威尼斯赌博app-【官网】 of Augsburg are also offered application-oriented know-how on current developments and practice-oriented issues in information and communication technology.

Center for Lightweight-Production-Technology?(ZLP) of the DLR

Center for lightweight-production-technology (ZLP) is a national DLR facility with two research sites in Augsburg and Stade. The focus there is respectively on the automated production of components made of carbon fibre reinforced plastics (CFRP) for the aerospace, transport and energy sectors.
Together with the 威尼斯赌博游戏_威尼斯赌博app-【官网】 of Augsburg, the DLR's Lightweight-Production-Technology (ZLP) conducts research in the fields of textile technology, thermoplastics processing, assembly and joining technology and robotics for fibre composite manufacturing. In addition to the chairs for physics at Augsburg 威尼斯赌博游戏_威尼斯赌博app-【官网】, the Institute for Materials Resource Management in particular is integrated.

The German Remote Sensing Data Center (DFD) of the DLR

The Augsburg Institute of Physics cooperates with the German Aerospace Center (DLR). Prof. Dr Michael Bittner holds the chair at the Institute of Physics at the 威尼斯赌博游戏_威尼斯赌博app-【官网】 of Augsburg and is also head of the Atmosphere Department at the German Remote Sensing Data Center (DFD) of the DLR. The university's research focus in atmospheric remote sensing is on the upper mesosphere and lower thermosphere, two of the least explored regions of the Earth's atmosphere. In cooperation with DLR, including in the form of project work, innovative data and innovation products are to be developed with the help of satellite-based measurements.

Max Planck Institute for Plasma Phyics (IPP) of the Max-Planck-Gesellschaft zur F?rderung der Wissenschaften e.V.

The working group for Experimental Plasma Physics (EPP) at the Institute of Physics at the 威尼斯赌博游戏_威尼斯赌博app-【官网】 of Augsburg has been conducting research with the Max Planck Institute for Plasma Physics (IPP) since 2012 under the direction of Prof. Dr. Ursel Fantz. The focus is on the diagnostics of low-temperature plasmas as well as the investigation of plasma processes in molecular plasmas and the investigation of plasma-wall interactions at low energies. Together with the ITER Technology & Diagnostics Division of the IPP, the university working group is developing sources of negative hydrogen ions.

Forschungszentrum Karlsruhe GmbH (Karlsruhe Institute for Technology (KIT))/ Institute of Meteorology and Climate Research Atmospheric Environmental Research (IMK-IFU), Campus Alpin, Garmisch-Partenkirchen

The networking of the 威尼斯赌博游戏_威尼斯赌博app-【官网】 of Augsburg with the Institute for Meteorology and Climate Research (IMK) at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) in Garmisch-Partenkirchen has already existed since 2009. The Augsburg Chair of Regional Climate and Hydrology of the Institute of Geography is run jointly with KIT under the direction of Prof. Dr. Harald Kunstmann. The research focuses on investigating the interaction and feedback processes of soil, vegetation and atmosphere. With the help of satellite data and statistical methods, questions such as the availability of water and the development of the climate are investigated. The aim of the research is to advance the development and application of coupled hydrological-atmospheric model systems (WRF-Hydro) and Copula-based methods for the refinement and bias correction of climate and climate change information. Research areas include Central Europe (especially Bavaria, the Alpine region and the 威尼斯赌博游戏_威尼斯赌博app-【官网】iterranean region), the Middle East and the West Africa region.

Institut für Zeitgeschichte München-Berlin (IfZ)

?

The Chair of Contemporary History at the 威尼斯赌博游戏_威尼斯赌博app-【官网】 of Augsburg was established in 2014 together with the Institute of Contemporary History (IfZ) based in Munich and Berlin.

The Institute of Contemporary History is a non-university research institution that researches the entire German history of the 20th century up to the present in its European and global connections. The IfZ was founded in 1949 to be the first institute ever to scientifically research the National Socialist dictatorship.
