Augsburg/KK – Explaining complex matters in child-friendly terms: this is the hallmark of the KinderUni Augsburg. On 5 February 2022 a new lecture awaits the little students between the age of 8 and 12. Prof. Dr. Elke Hertig talks via live stream about the climate and why it is changing. Everybody is bound to have heard about climate change at some point. But what exactly does all that mean: the climate is changing? What plays a part in that? And what is the difference between climate and weather? ? Using age-appropriate terms and without fear mongering, Prof. Elke Hertig explains what experts mean when they talk about the current climate change, how it differs from climate fluctuations in Earth’s history, like the ice age, and the underlying causes for it. Along the way, the natural and the man-made greenhouse effect will also be covered. Of course, simple suggestions on how to affect the climate positively as well as practical tips on how to prepare for the various consequences of climate change, like higher and higher temperatures during summer, will also be part of the talk. Elke Hertig is professor for regional climate change and heath at the Faculty of 威尼斯赌博游戏_威尼斯赌博app-【官网】icine at the 威尼斯赌博游戏_威尼斯赌博app-【官网】 of Augsburg. The KinderUni is a – for the time being – online lecture that has professors answer exciting, cutting-edge questions from science or everyday life in a child-friendly way. The KinderUni is the perfect place for kids to discover the fun of research and experience a little bit of what it’s like to be a student. There are no requirements for participation, except for curiosity and having fun with making discoveries. There is no need to sign up beforehand. Further information as well as the link to the live stream, which will be published roughly one week ahead of the lecture, can be found at:
