The 威尼斯赌博游戏_威尼斯赌博app-【官网】 of Augsburg belongs to the top 10 percent of places in Germany to study business and economics. According to the current WirtschaftsWoche ranking, the university is ranked 18th among German universities and 24th among universities in the D-A-CH region, namely Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. Seven researchers from the Faculty of Business and Economics were honoured in the ranking. Three of them are members of the Centre for Climate Resilience.

The university was ranked 24th in the ranking that considered all German-speaking universities in the D-A-CH region.186 universities were rated in Germany and 233 in the entire D-A-CH region. Recognition of researchers under 40s and lifetime achievers

Alongside the ranking of universities, the WirtschaftsWoche ranking includes three other categories: the author ranking (publications in the last ten years), the under 40s ranking (top researchers under 40), and the life’s work ranking (life’s work of researchers in the area of business and economics).

During the survey period, the 威尼斯赌博游戏_威尼斯赌博app-【官网】 of Augsburg was recorded as having 533 publications from 33 researchers, seven of whom received a special mention: Prof Sebastian Utz (ranking 25, Climate Finance) and Prof Manuel Ostermeier (ranking 62, Resilient Operations) made it to the list of top researchers under 40. Both are members of the Centre for Climate Resilience at the 威尼斯赌博游戏_威尼斯赌博app-【官网】 of Augsburg. Data from 413 researchers was including in this assessment.

Five researchers at the 威尼斯赌博游戏_威尼斯赌博app-【官网】 of Augsburg were recognised for their life’s work: Prof Heribert Gierl (Marketing) ranked 31, Prof Marcus Wagner (Innovation & Sustainable Management and member of the Centre for Climate Resilience) ranked 60, Prof Erik Lehmann (Corporate Management & Organisation) ranked 148, as well as Prof Jan Muntermann (Financial Data Analytics) ranked 198 and Robert Klein (Analytics & Optimization) ranked 199.

Top ranking the goal of the future

“We are delighted by these excellent rankings,” says Prof Robert Nuscheler, dean of the Faculty of Business and Economics at the 威尼斯赌博游戏_威尼斯赌博app-【官网】 of Augsburg. “The ranking is evidence of our commitment and the expertise of our researchers, who through their work are making an important contribution to the international scientific community.” The results of the WirtschaftsWoche ranking confirm the excellent contributions being made to research by the Faculty of Business and Economics. This was also recently demonstrated by the Research.com ranking, where in the area of business and management the faculty was ranked 7th in Germany. “We will continue to expand our research activities to the highest level. This applies especially to the important future-orientated fields of digital business and entrepreneurship, health and society, as well as sustainability,” says Nuscheler.

About the WirtschaftsWoche ranking

In the current ranking, publications from the last ten years were considered (2015 to 2024). In total, publications from nearly 860 journals were evaluated. The WirtschaftsWoche ranking, which appears regularly every two years, evaluates the research strength of business and economics faculties and professors in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, and is considered a special distinction. The survey is conducted by the KOF Swiss Economic Institute at ETH Zurich. The focus of the analysis is on the number of publications and their reputation, namely academic excellence. Achievements in teaching are not considered.
