The main focus of the research activities of our department is to leverage large biomedical datasets through the development and application of computational methods for research, diagnostics, and patient care. At the interface between medicine and (molecular) biology on one side, and bioinformatics / computational biology and data science on the other side, we utilize genomic or other omics data along with clinical and phenotypic data to comprehend various diseases at the molecular level. Based on this, we strive to enhance diagnostic procedures and treatment possibilities.
