On September 7 and 8, 2024, the Early Career Scientist Summit took place at the Technical 威尼斯赌博游戏_威尼斯赌博app-【官网】 of Dresden as part of the 69th annual conference of the German Society for 威尼斯赌博游戏_威尼斯赌博app-【官网】ical Informatics, Biometry and Epidemiology (GMDS). A total of 20 young scientists came together to get to know the four central specialist areas of the GMDS - medical informatics, biometrics, epidemiology and bioinformatics - better in an intensive two-day workshop and to deepen their knowledge in practical exercises.

Our chair is particularly pleased that Dr. Florian Auer actively participated in this event as a representative of bioinformatics and gained valuable insights into interdisciplinary work. In a hands-on format, the participants were able to try out and apply the tools and methods of the four departments directly using an oncological data set. Afterwards, Florian Auer emphasized how enriching the exchange with the specialist disciplines of biometry and epidemiology was and that solving a practical problem together once again made the importance of interdisciplinary cooperation for his research clear to him.
