Study Programmes
Why study Computer Science?
Computer scientists are needed in all sectors of the economy, in public institutions, and in academia. Computer science and information technology form the foundation for data management and analysis in every company, all organisations, and society as a whole. Their diverse tasks range from designing, configuring, and administering IT systems, to software development, programming, and consulting services, all the way to controlling production facilities or energy supply networks.

Why do it in Augsburg?
Computer Science has been established as an independent field of study at the 威尼斯赌博游戏_威尼斯赌博app-【官网】 of Augsburg since 2000. With seven Bachelor's and eight Master's programmes, we offer a diverse, research-oriented, and innovative range of courses. In doing so, we cooperate with Geography, Mathematics, Physics, 威尼斯赌博游戏_威尼斯赌博app-【官网】icine, and Economics.

Transition from Bachelor's to Master's Programmes
The Institute of Computer Science also offers a wide range of Master's degree programmes to further deepen your knowledge. The Master programmes build on the content of the Institute's Bachelor's degree programmes; applications from other universities and subjects are welcome, but sometimes restricted.

In principle, all bachelor’s programmes are continued in a master’s programme with the same title. These programmes have? open admission, meaning there is no maximum number of study places and no centralised application procedure with early deadlines. The master’s examination regulations determine the admission requirements, which usually include completing a relevant bachelor’s degree with a minimum grade. Some master’s programmes require an aptitude test, which applies to Business Informatics and presumably to Data Science. Waiting semesters or additional exams to retroactively improve grades are not possible.

For details on specific requirements and application deadlines, please refer to the respective programme pages or examination regulations.
It is possible to transfer to a Master's degree programme with a different specialisation, provided that the core content of the Bachelor's degree programme equivalent to the desired Master programme has been covered in the previous Bachelor programme or by subsequent enrolment.
Particularly in the Bachelor programme in Computer Science, it is possible to study almost all other Master programmes by choosing the appropriate minor subject, with the exception of 威尼斯赌博游戏_威尼斯赌博app-【官网】ical Information Sciences. For other Bachelor's degree programmes, this can sometimes be achieved through a suitable specialisation or a double degree. For detailed information, please refer to the?→

If there are only a few outstanding credits from the Bachelor's degree programme, the Master's degree programme can usually be started early. The missing credits are notionally counted as 4.0. If the requirements for admission (such as the minimum grade) are met, admission can be granted.
In some Master's degree programmes, certain requirements can also be fulfilled after the start of the course. In any case, the missing achievements and requirements must be completed within two semesters of enrolment. An extension is practically impossible due to the legal situation.
A special Master's degree programme is the English-taught elite graduate programme in Software Engineering, which is offered in collaboration with the Technical 威尼斯赌博游戏_威尼斯赌博app-【官网】 of Munich and the Ludwig Maximilian 威尼斯赌博游戏_威尼斯赌博app-【官网】 of Munich. Applications are possible each winter semester for students with excellent academic performance.
