Case Law

?

?

Nowadays, European Court of Justice judgments are easily accessible. However, there is still no database for collecting and publishing national decisions, which bear European relevance. These judgments are, for example, final national decisions of preliminary ruling procedures that provide information on how the national judges consider themselves to be European judges, and methodologically adapt and apply the ECJ’s rulings to national law. Until now, these European judgments only exist in the respective national language, not in the languages of other Member States. These decisions can also be those that – despite European relevance – do not lead to preliminary rulings. The collection of such important national decisions and their public availability allows other scientists, judges, lawyers and the interested public (including journalists) to make a horizontal legal comparison, and will thus eventually serve the enforcement of European law. For this purpose, you can find here decisions translated into English.
