The department of Psychology with a special emphasis on Educational Psychology deals with the study of predominantly cognitive and instructional processes of teaching and learning in school and other educational contexts. Particular emphasis is placed on (a) the question of how pre-service teachers and in-service teachers can be empowered to engage in an evidence-based approach to authentic pedagogical-psychological problem situations, (b) analyzing and promoting media didactic skills of pre-service teachers and in-service teachers, and (c) the question to what extent learning groups can effectively regulate their learning process and how they can be instructed in this way.
