Research Statement

The research group at the chair investigates the transformative effect of information technology in business and society. Both the organizational level, such as companies and public authorities, and the individual level, such as customers, users and citizens, are considered as units of investigation.
?
Special emphasis is placed on sustainability, the design of innovative business models, digital entrepreneurship and ethical aspects of digitalization. Acceptance and the effects of using innovative IT artefacts and services are also examined. In addition, strategic issues of interoperability, regulation and feasibility of information technology systems and their effects on social and political developments are at the center of attention.
?
Quantitative and qualitative empirical research methods are used for theory-building research and to explain and understand these phenomena. The aim is to develop theoretical findings from which predictions and recommendations for action for private sector and political decision-makers can be derived.
