The Faculty of Philosophy and Social Sciences of the 威尼斯赌博游戏_威尼斯赌博app-【官网】 of Augsburg is offering a position as

Doctoral researcher (m/f/d)

in the scope of a 75 % position (30 hours per week) for a fixed-term contract of 3 years and 9 months?to be filled from 1st October 2025. The salary is up to pay group TV-L 13 if the personal and collective agreement requirements are met.

The position is based at the Chair of Learning Analytics and Educational Data Mining (Prof. Dr. Michael Sailer) and is part of the SHARP Collaborative Research Centre.

About us

The DFG-funded Collaborative Research Centre (CRC) SHARP ‘Simulation-based learning in higher education: Advancing research on process diagnostics and personalised interventions’ contributes to theory-building on personalising learning using simulations in higher education. As a joint research context, SHARP focuses on diagnosing and intervening as two highly relevant professional practices in many academic professions.

The subproject B04 ‘Symptoms of learning and behavioural difficulties: Enhancing the diagnostic and intervention-related skills with adaptive feedback’, investigates the conditions under which personalised feedback in simulations can support students with varying professional specialisations and corresponding knowledge bases in diagnosing and addressing learning and behavioural difficulties in children. B04 is currently looking for a doctoral researcher. The position is located at the Chair of Learning Analytics and Educational Data Mining (Prof. Dr. Michael Sailer), in collaboration with Department of Psychology, LMU (Prof. Frank Niklas), and with the Institute of Mathematics Education, LMU (Prof. Stefan Ufer).

Your tasks and responsibilities

Your tasks will include

  • planning, preparing and conducting empirical studies on simulation-based learning
  • analysing data
  • contributing to scientific publications.

Your qualification

  • You have a very good Master?s degree in the field of educational science, psychology, or learning sciences.
  • You are interested in interdisciplinary collaboration and working in research teams.
  • You have very good knowledge of social science research methods and statistics.
  • You have experiences in planning and conducting empirical studies.
  • You have knowledge of learning analytics and AI in education.
  • You have experience in empirical research in the context of higher education.
  • You have very good written and spoken English skills.
  • Experiences with multimodal process analyses and software for evaluating and managing complex data would be an advantage.

The required qualification must already be proven in the application documents by means of appropriate certificates.
