Frequently asked questions (FAQs)

The Examinations Board is responsible for recognising academic achievements. Please apply (see forms) to the examinations office for magister degrees providing the relevant academic certificates.

It is advisable to submit the magister¡¯s thesis one year before registering for the final examination (Abschlusspr¨¹fung). You have six months to complete it.

In general, the marking process takes four months.

At the beginning of the 12th subject semester at the latest, or at the earliest after passing the magister preliminary examination (Magistervorpr¨¹fung) or intermediate examination (Zwischenpr¨¹fung).

Submit a medical certificate to the examinations office that confirms that you are unfit to take the examination. The certificate must be submitted no later than three days after the date of the examination. Please inform your chair or examiner that you cannot participate in the examination.
